I. Am. Stoked.
I saw a promotional image for a new collection of shorts released in conjunction with Earth Day from Handmade Puppet Dreams and I saw a very familiar red bird in the corner.
It turns out that the puppet short I worked on by the New Puppet Order – the “live action cartoon” Nature Calls was selected! And it is FREE (at least in the US) on The Roku Channel. Nature Calls starts at the 55 minute mark but the rest of the collection is wonderful too.
It’s about two folks who go hiking, and one is obsessed with her phone. She drops and the creatures of the forest get their hands on it before Mother Nature steps in.

Everyone in it was already an industry pro at the time (except me) and only served to become more prolific. Spencer Murill, Raymond Carr, Sam Carter, Thom Stanley, Beau Brown… so many others (I’ll have to look at the crew list again.)
